yo jamie + co. a little while ago i looked at mike riscica's site and saw the names of places very very close to where i'm from on there. so i read the segment on south strafford to hancock. that little town of rochester? that's home. and the bakery on whose porch you spent the day, using their wifi? my parents own the building. i was the baker there for five months. the chalkboard menu inside is my handwriting. and the motorcycle on the rock is my family's. it's in front of the tipi in our hayfield, across the street from my house, and a sign of sorts for my dad's motorcycle shop. it was nice to hear that you got to meet montana (the 14 year old who did the bike trip last summer) and i hope you checked out the bicycle shop in town. reading about home made your trip that much more real for me. and was a reminder of all the people i've seen come through town on their own versions of your trip. enjoy the scenery and the people you meet; they were my favorite part of the motorcycle trips i don't get to take anymore. keep it shiny side up. i'm just bummed that when the trip's over you're not coming back to boston. jjs
Chris was right about going across Wisconsin. Illinois sucks. Milwaukee is the beer capital of the world (yes this is up for debate but I am from Wisconsin) Remember Beer is a priority
