An Awful Welcome

Within a half hour of arriving into our final destination, Portland Oregon, my bicycle (not including the bags) was stolen.

I foolishly left it unattended for exactly five minutes outside the house Mike and I are staying at. All we had was an eye witness account of where he rode off to. We attempted to hunt down the thief minutes after the theft to no avail.

All attempts within the biking and law enforcement community have been taken into action. My fingers are not crossed for getting this bike back.

I guess when I'm done riding, I'm really done riding.

The good news is we're staying with a great group of guys who have welcomed us arms extended. Another instance where a road block is softened by the company of fantastic people.

Sucks about your bike!!! Can you get around Portland without a bike? We're having a good time up in NH...lots of beer, food, video games, and football. Barley is in the care of Whitney and Ed...we thought about bringing him, but decided it might not be the best idea. ;)

hey, it must be funny not having your bike around any more. What a dare thief, targetting at the bike of one member of the TNT.

what is in your plan now? finding some work to do? teaching young kids at California can find money as big as $50 to $100 an hour, from what I know of. Will you be interested doing that in Irish? I think that if you had some different cultured stuff, the pay will be there. Also, California is nearer to the real world where filmmakers are. Isn't that what you will want to do while heading towards the West?

Let me remain an anonymous for a bit.

You may call me Bob though.

One young lad waits until he finds the right job--meaning right money for the fun work. But even this person needs to be taking an odd job for a bit.

It is kind of scary for a little while. However, once you have put things together, you will learn the team working and soon becoming a master of the universe because of the experiences.

I have enjoyed your writing and footages in videos as well as that from Mike and Chuck at the CGOAB.

You will do great, trust me. I do trust you will do wonderful. Come around to me if you do not in the future. I am sure that will not happen.

ALL THE BEST WISHES ON A NEW LAND THAT YOU WILL CALL IT NEW HOME!!

Dear Anon,

Thanks for you partially positive comment. And your choice to remain anonymous. You're brave for doing such a thing.

Lets not forget, this is not the first time someone has stolen your bicycle. I remember that green bmx being stolen at least twice and both times you confronted the asshole who stole it. I hope you have the same luck with this one. No one gets the best of Jamie O'Brien and lives to tell about it. NO ONE!

I might also suggest the Stolen Bicycle Registry.

hey, as long as I am not biasedly positive. Partially positive is okay, isn't it?

I know, not remaining known, or aka, is kind of in need of guts. But, hey, it is okay. The least for now.

The matter is all the tough talks and tough spirits need also courage.

James, you are funny still with a loss of the bike. Do get that thief and flip him out. Yet, remember this. Not an ideal world to be when all the knowns are in the needy end for money. Do something about that too, while giving a lesson to the bike thief.

Loved your courages, yours and also Mike's. Remember SF. And, remember the hungry CGOAB webmaster too.
